For 16 years I was the environmental science teacher at Tokyo Public School. I taught the final-year class and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I sing in a choir. Inside it, I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
