Yared Biniam Melaku
Geography and design and technology teacher, Adama
- 🇪🇹 Adama, Oromia, Ethiopia
- Adama High School
- Since 2011
- English
I teach geography at Adama High School in Adama since 2011. Most days I teach mixed-ability classes, and I write a short note to every student at the end of term.
Over the years I've had 290 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Yared
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Yared: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
