I've coached football at Laredo Swimming Club since 1989. Most of my players were between 10 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
If you remember me, I'd love to hear from you.
More about Yan
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Yan: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
