I taught music at Bakersfield High School in Bakersfield from 2004 to 2018. Most days I taught Year 7, and I never turned anyone away.
I ran the choir after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
More about Xia
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Xia: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
