Wunmi Jumoke Coker
Tabla player and teacher in Kano
- 🇳🇬 Kano, Kano, Nigeria
- Kano Pioneer Quartet
- 2001 to 2019
- English
I play tabla and gospel. I started in 2001 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
My favorite gigs are the small ones where somebody cries a little in the third row.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
What gifts mean to Wunmi: Any gift will help me keep teaching kids who can't afford lessons.

I still have the recording from that night at Kano Pioneer Quartet.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
