William C. Carpenter
Choir director and singer
- 🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States
- Los Angeles Ensemble
- 1980 to 2008
- English
I play folk music and oud. I started in 1980 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 14 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I sing in a choir.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about William
I wrote my first song when I was 17. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to William: I'd put a gift toward recording a small album.
