Wekesa Opio Barasa

Drums player and teacher in Mwanza

  • 🇹🇿 Mwanza, Mwanza, Tanzania
  • Mwanza Gateway Music School
  • 1988 to 2025
  • English
I've played drums from 1988 to 2025, mostly in pubs, churches, weddings and anywhere else that would have me. These days I also teach. I teach about 11 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I walk the dog by the river.

More about Wekesa

I wrote my first song when I was 21. It was terrible and I still love it.
