Wekesa Kiptoo Kariuki
Art and mathematics teacher, Mombasa
- 🇰🇪 Mombasa, Mombasa, Kenya
- Since 2001
- English, Spanish
For 25 years I have been the art teacher at Rosewood Boys' School. I teach Year 9 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
Outside the classroom I walk the dog by the river. Inside it, I learn every name in the first week.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Wekesa
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Wekesa: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
