Wayne D. Gilbert
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇬🇧 Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom
- Edinburgh Shop
- Since 2012
- English
My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 2012 in Edinburgh and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Wayne
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Wayne: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
