I'm a textiles artist based in Dar es Salaam. I've been making things from 1996 to 2019 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
Most of my work is inspired by the river near my house. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Waweru
I've had 5 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.
What gifts mean to Waweru: A gift would go toward materials for my next series.
