For 23 years I ran the cycling program at Embakasi Sports Club in Embakasi. We trained 2 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I walk the dog by the river.
More about Wanjiru
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Wanjiru: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
