Wambui Joyce Rashidi
Folk music player and teacher in Kisumu
- 🇰🇪 Kisumu, Kisumu, Kenya
- Hope Ensemble
- Since 1988
- English, Swahili
I play folk music and drums. I started in 1988 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I run most mornings.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Wambui
I write my first song when I was 17. It was terrible and I still love it.

What gifts mean to Wambui: A gift would go toward new strings, repairs and music for my students.
