Wambui Akinyi Juma
Sculpture and glass art artist
- 🇰🇪 Likoni, Mombasa, Kenya
- Windsor Art Collective
- Since 1983
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in sculpture, sometimes glass art. My first show was in 1983 at Windsor Art Collective, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
Most of my work is inspired by old photographs. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Wambui
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
What gifts mean to Wambui: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
