Vivian J. Lane
Mentor in first-generation students and engineering
- 🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States
- Oakland Learning Hub
- Since 1991
- English
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 1,160 people through Oakland Learning Hub.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
More about Vivian
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Vivian: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
