Vinod R. Rao
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Saket, Delhi, India
- Good Shepherd Trades Guild
- 1989 to 2010
- English, French
My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 1989 in Saket and I'm still there most mornings.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I carry a notebook everywhere.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Vinod: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
