Venkat F. Subramanian
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
- The Hillcrest Workshop
- Since 2001
- English
I've worked in weaving since 2001. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 1,150 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 18 years later for another job.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
What gifts mean to Venkat: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
