Varun S. Mittal
Neonatal care nurse at St. Joseph's Community Hospital

I've been a nurse for 23 years, most of them in neonatal care at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in Tiruchirappalli. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

Areas of care
What gifts mean to Varun: I'd put gifts toward a training course in palliative care.
