Vanessa N. Alcantara
Youth wrestling coach and mentor
- 🇵🇭 Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines
- Makati Greenfield Youth Club
- 1989 to 2023
- English, Filipino
For 34 years I ran the wrestling program at Makati Greenfield Youth Club in Makati. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
More about Vanessa
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Vanessa: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
