Valentina Carrillo
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇦🇷 La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina
- The Gateway Works
- Since 1980
- Spanish
I've worked in weaving since 1980. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,560 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.
More about Valentina
If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
What gifts mean to Valentina: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
