Vaishali D. Thakkar
Midwife and nurse, Mumbai
- 🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
- Since 1981
- English, Marathi
I've been a nurse for 45 years, most of them in school nursing at Mumbai Maternity Hospital in Mumbai. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
I carry a notebook everywhere. Small things matter when someone is frightened.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
Areas of care
What gifts mean to Vaishali: A gift would go toward blankets and small comforts for patients without family.
