Utami Ika Rahman
Painter, potter and teacher at Old Surakarta Print Workshop
- 🇮🇩 Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia
- Old Surakarta Print Workshop
- Since 1988
- English, French
I work mostly in textiles, sometimes woodcarving. My first show was in 1988 at Old Surakarta Print Workshop, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
Most of my work is inspired by faces I pass in the street. I watch every football match going.
More about Utami
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.

What gifts mean to Utami: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
