Upendo Janet Kioko
Masonry for 22 years in Kampala
- 🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda
- Rosewood Trades Guild
- 2000 to 2022
- English, Swahili
I've worked in masonry from 2000 to 2022. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 810 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 25 years later for another job.
More about Upendo
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Upendo: Any gift will help me keep the workshop open for evening lessons.
