Helping people break into software
- 🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya
- Nairobi Youth Network
- 2000 to 2014
- English, Swahili
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 520 people through Nairobi Youth Network.
Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
More about Upendo
If I mentored you, I hope you're still pushing yourself.
What gifts mean to Upendo: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
