I'm a swimming coach. I never went pro, but I get to see 790 kids fall in love with the game.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I learn every name in the first week.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
What gifts mean to Umar: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

I still think about the surprise birthday cake. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Nairobi.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
