Uma R. Gowda
Youth baseball coach and mentor
- 🇮🇳 Rajkot, Gujarat, India
- Rajkot Community Club
- 1985 to 2007
- English, Telugu, French
I coached baseball at Rajkot Community Club from 1985 to 2007. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Uma
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Uma: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
