Uche Amaka Tijani
Master of pottery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Abuja, Abuja FCT, Nigeria
- Since 1983
- English, Igbo
I've worked in pottery since 1983. I learned from my older brother and passed what I could on to 2,540 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Uche: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
