I taught design and technology at Hồ Chí Minh City Public School in Hồ Chí Minh City from 1983 to 2021. Most days I taught mixed-ability classes, and I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
My classroom was always a bit noisy, a bit untidy and usually full of people who came for the biscuits.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
