Travis G. Smith

Master of leatherwork, now teaching apprentices

  • 🇦🇺 Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia
  • The Newcastle Trades Guild
  • Since 1992
  • English
I've worked in leatherwork since 1992. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 1,870 apprentices. Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave. Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

What gifts mean to Travis: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
