- 🇯🇵 Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan
- Eastgate Middle School
- Since 1979

I came to teaching late, after working as a clerk, and 47 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
Over the years I've had 1,130 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Toru
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Toru: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
