I play tabla and oud. I started in 1992 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness.
I teach about 15 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I'm learning the guitar.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Ties
I write my first song when I was 21. It was terrible and I still love it.
What gifts mean to Ties: A gift would go toward new strings, repairs and music for my students.
