Thulani Petersen

Self-taught glass art artist

  • 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
  • The Baobab Art Collective
  • Since 1997
  • English, Zulu
I'm a glass art artist based in Soweto. I've been making things since 1997 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives. Most of my work is inspired by old photographs. I bake for the whole street at New Year. I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.

More about Thulani

I've had 12 small exhibitions over the years. My favorite was the one with the worst lighting.

Glass art
What gifts mean to Thulani: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
