Helping people break into writing
- 🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa
- Soweto Youth Network
- Since 2011
- English, Zulu
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 680 people through Soweto Youth Network.
I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Thulani
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
What gifts mean to Thulani: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.

You helped me get my first writing job in 2013. I still have your notes. Thank you again.
