I've coached chess at Strasbourg Heritage Athletic Club since 2011. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
What gifts mean to Théo: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
