I teach art at Colombo High School in Colombo since 1981. Most days I teach the final-year class, and I never turn anyone away.
Over the years I've had 1,710 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Tharushi
Teaching changed me more than I changed anyone, I think.

What gifts mean to Tharushi: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.

I was in your the final-year class class in 2009. You believed I could do it before I did. Greetings from Tangier.
