I've been a nurse for 46 years, most of them in intensive care at Westbrook Children's Hospital in Richards Bay. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I garden badly but happily.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
