I've been a nurse for 36 years, most of them in school nursing at Elmwood Children's Hospital in Rotterdam. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
