Tejaswini B. Ramachandran
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
- Acacia Works
- 1978 to 1992
- English, Tamil
I've worked in thatching from 1978 to 1992. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 280 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 10 years later for another job.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Tejaswini
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Tejaswini: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.

You fixed our roof in 2021 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from Orlando.
