Tayo Dayo Quadri
Master of pottery, now teaching apprentices
- 🇳🇬 Wudil, Kano, Nigeria
- Wudil Trades Guild
- 1978 to 2013
- English, Igbo
I've worked in pottery from 1978 to 2013. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 2,030 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
More about Tayo
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Tayo: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
