Tatsuya Goro Sugawara

Self-taught woodcarving artist

🇯🇵 Osaka, Osaka, Japan
Little Rosewood Print Workshop
Since 1989
Japanese

I work mostly in woodcarving, sometimes illustration. My first show was in 1989 at Little Rosewood Print Workshop, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog. Most of my work is inspired by my grandmother's kitchen. I bake for the whole street at New Year. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Tatsuya: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
