I've worked in painting and decorating since 1988. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 2,090 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Swati: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
