Swapnil Gaikwad
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Thane, Maharashtra, India
- The Thane Workshop
- 1994 to 2023
- English
My trade is thatching. I opened my own shop in 1994 in Thane and I'm still there most mornings.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I make terrible puns.
If we met, say hello. I'd love to know how life turned out.
More about Swapnil
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Swapnil: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
