Sumaiya Sumaiya Biswas
Master of carpentry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇧🇩 Gazipur, Dhaka, Bangladesh
- Old Gazipur Works
- 2017 to 2025
- English, Bengali
I've worked in carpentry from 2017 to 2025. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 250 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 21 years later for another job.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Sumaiya: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
