I taught agriculture and art at Frangipani Middle School, Siliguri. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
Over the years I had 920 students pass through my room. A few of them became teachers themselves, which still makes me smile.
More about Sowmya
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the old fort, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Sowmya: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
