I've worked in blacksmithing since 1983. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,330 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
