I've been a nurse for 47 years, most of them in intensive care at El Paso Community Hospital in El Paso. Night shifts taught me patience, and patients taught me everything else.
The thing I'm proudest of is that families usually remember my name. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
I'm still learning every day.
