For nine years I ran the football program at Meadowbank Football Club in Los Angeles. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Sofía
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Sofía: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
