Smit F. Desai
Master of carpentry, now teaching apprentices
- 🇮🇳 Rohini, Delhi, India
- Old Rohini Workshop
- 1990 to 2004
- English, Marathi, French
I've worked in carpentry from 1990 to 2004. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 700 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I like to keep things simple and honest.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Smit: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
