Simona Ionescu
Master of thatching, now teaching apprentices
- 🇷🇴 București, București, Romania
- Lincoln Shop
- Since 1992
- English, Romanian
I've worked in thatching since 1992. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 2,040 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
More about Simona
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Simona: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
