Simiyu Kamau Otieno
Photography and oil painting artist
- 🇺🇬 Gulu, Northern Region, Uganda
- Little Riverside Print Workshop
- Since 1992
- English, Swahili
I work mostly in photography, sometimes oil painting. My first show was in 1992 at Little Riverside Print Workshop, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I take the work seriously, though not myself. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Simiyu
If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.

What gifts mean to Simiyu: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
