I've coached swimming at El Paso Sports Club since 1998. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Silvia
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Silvia: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
